Quick Answer

Northwest Thermal Solutions installs and replaces heat pump systems for homeowners across Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, Issaquah, and the surrounding King and Snohomish County area, backed by a manufacturer-matched labor warranty (12 years on Mitsubishi, 10 on Trane and American Standard) and 24/7 emergency response.

What We Handle

Heat pump services for Kirkland-area homeowners.

New Installation

Pairing with existing ductwork or standing on its own, sized and installed to spec.

System Replacement

Full swap-out of an aging or underpowered heat pump, with a documented startup.

Diagnostic & Repair

Short-cycling, weak output, or trouble switching modes, diagnosed, not guessed at.

Seasonal Maintenance

Runs nearly year-round in both directions, keeping it maintained keeps your warranty intact.

Know The Warning Signs

Signs you may need heat pump repair or replacement.

A heat pump usually gives you warning signs before it fails outright. If you notice any of these, a diagnostic visit tells you whether a repair will hold or whether replacement is the smarter long-term call. Either way, you get a straight answer, not an upsell.

Schedule a diagnostic visit

Weak or inconsistent output

Struggling to keep up in either mode, or trouble switching cleanly between heating and cooling.

Rising energy bills

A noticeable increase without any change in how you use the system.

Short-cycling

The system turns on and off repeatedly instead of running a full cycle.

An aging system

Old enough that repairs are becoming more frequent or more expensive to keep making.

Premium Brands Only

Mitsubishi, Trane, and American Standard, never a budget-tier unit.

Deepest coverage

Mitsubishi

12-year parts matched with 12-year labor. Often the choice when pairing central heat pump performance with ductless mini-split zones.

Same engineering

Trane

10-year parts matched with 10-year labor. Quiet, variable-speed performance built for Pacific Northwest homes.

Same engineering

American Standard

10-year parts matched with 10-year labor. The same equipment as Trane, sold under a second name.

The Headline Differentiator

Manufacturer-matched labor warranties, backed by real credentials.

A heat pump runs harder than a seasonal system, so we don't treat the labor warranty as an afterthought.

Written, Not Just Spoken

No service charge on covered calls.

Neglect voids most manufacturer warranties anyway, so ours simply matches what the manufacturer already backs, in writing.

How It Works

A heat pump has to get commissioned correctly in both directions.

01
Assessment of ductwork, existing equipment, and your home's heating and cooling load.
02
Equipment selection, walking through Mitsubishi, Trane, and American Standard options.
03
Installation to manufacturer specs, no shortcuts.
04
Documented startup, verified in both heating and cooling modes.
05
Homeowner walkthrough: controls, filter schedule, and how your warranty works.
Utility Rebates

Often the deciding factor when weighing cost against another repair.

PSE figures depend on your system and, in some cases, household income. Snohomish PUD covers qualifying heat pump upgrades from electric-resistance heat. We handle the paperwork and apply the discount upfront, so the rebate lowers your invoice instead of arriving as a reimbursement check.

What is a heat pump?+
A heat pump is functionally similar to an air conditioner, but it has a valve that can reverse the direction of refrigerant flow, pulling heat into your home in winter and cooling it in summer, all from one system.
What's the difference between a mini-split and a heat pump?+
A mini-split is a type of heat pump. It uses the same heating-and-cooling technology, but it's ductless, which makes it a good fit for additions or rooms your central system can't reach.
What's the difference between an AC and a heat pump?+
An air conditioner only cools. A heat pump heats and cools from the same system by reversing the refrigerant flow, taking the place of both a furnace and an AC.
How does the manufacturer-matched labor warranty work?+
Mitsubishi: 12-year parts matched to 12-year labor. Trane and American Standard: 10-year parts matched to 10-year labor. If a covered issue comes up on a system that hasn't been neglected, no service charge.
How much does heat pump installation cost in Kirkland?+
Cost depends on system size, brand, and whether we're pairing with existing ductwork. We'll walk your home, give you brand options, and provide a written quote before any work begins.
